012 - Fashion Industry Essentials - The Metrics

As many of you know, I enjoy taking courses to gain the experience or wisdom I need in any area. Luckily, I had won a scholarship to attend Fashion Industry Essentials via Parsons New School, which you may remember from the last post. As we complete modules in the curriculum, we often have real-world exercises and more that show us tools and more online. Currently, I am in a module part called ‘Your Media Brand’, which appears in Course 4 above, that stresses the importance of knowing who your audience is.

While much of my traffic on typical social media, like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn comes from places I have traveled to or live in, I would have expected to see the United States, India, and Norway on my list of countries when I took a deep dive into my statistics. I found much of what I found on social networks also mirrored my visitors to my DJ Set archive on Mixcloud here: https://www.mixcloud.com/manimiglani/

Below is a screenshot of some of the recent visitors to the Mixcloud Profile and the countries where they reside:

As expected, the US, India and Norway were int he top 3, as I have spent the most time there when we talk about performances. It was surprising to see the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany and the rest of the countries on there as I have never performed there as a DJ. As I have traveled to Brazil on business, as well as the UK and Japan, perhaps friends made there have sprinkled over to my social media, as well as arrived at my DJ Set archive. This exercise has been cool and I thank Parsons New School, Yellowbrick and more for opening my eyes to where my friends, visitors and social media contacts are coming from.
